Introducing Masquerade, Saul Nash’s autumn/winter 2026 collection, an exploration into how clothes can be used as a tool to transcend and shape identity. After attending Notting Hill Carnival in the summer, the British-Caribbean designer began researching the significance of masquerade within Caribbean cultures.Originating as costumes enslaved people would create for mimicry ceremonies to emulate their European masters, masquerade has evolved into a vibrant cornerstone of Carnivals internationally.This thread of performance, concealment and self-expression would lead Nash to explore Venetian masquerade, where masks were worn to disguise the wearer.Drawing parallels of such traditions to his own experience growing up in London,Nash establishes a new kind of power dressing. Here, the designer explores the masquerade of modern menswear: the interplay between the formality of dressing up and the ease of casual wear, where a garment can be a vehicle to express one’s multiple selves. “I wanted to create a collection that empowers the wearer. These are clothes that can act as a form of masquerade in your own life; a medium to embody who you want to be,” says Saul Nash.
